The 5280 Trail is a new, distinctly Denver amenity, that connects many vibrant and diverse city center neighborhoods through the great urban outdoors, creating a powerful SENSE OF PLACE.
This effort builds on the visionary ideas and goals identified in numerous city and neighborhood plans to reimagine and repurpose our shared public spaces, LINKING NEIGHBORHOODS AND CONNECTING PEOPLE.
DENVER — Work is underway to create the new 5280 Trail to connect downtown Denver’s neighborhoods.
“It’s a 5.280-mile trail, like a linear park around downtown,” said Adam Perkins, an urban planning manager with the Downtown Denver Partnership.
The vision and concept process is done, so now officials are moving to the design phase.
An open house on Tuesday will include biking and walking tours of the preferred route.
The goal is to create green spaces along the route, including plants, trees, community gathering spaces, dog parks and more.
