Free Colorado College Application Day is October 30th!

To inspire more Coloradans to continue their education, all 32 public colleges and universities in Colorado­ and several private institutions will allow students to apply for free on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 as part of the inaugural Colorado Free Application Day.

Colorado Free Application Day caps off College Application Month, a six-week, statewide campaign that encourages high school seniors to successfully submit an application to a higher education program and file their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Admissions application information for each institution is available below. Fees will be waived for applications submitted on Oct. 30 only.

Public Four-Year Colleges and Universities

• Adams State University

Students who apply on this date will need to select the fee waiver Free App Fee Day at the very end of the application.

• Colorado Mesa University
  
  At the end of your application, select Pay Now/Have Promo Code and use the code COFREE to waive your application fee.
  
  
  
• Colorado School of Mines
  
  No special steps are necessary for Colorado residents to qualify for Colorado Free Application Day; your fee will automatically be waived when you submit your application on October 30.

• Colorado State University
  
  CSU Application: No special steps are necessary for Colorado residents to qualify for Colorado Free Application Day; your fee will automatically be waived when you submit your application on October 30.

Common Application:  Within the CSU Member Questions section, you’ll see this required prompt: “Are you eligible for a CSU application fee waiver through one (or more) of the following affiliations?” Choose Colorado Free Application Day (Colorado residents only) in the dropdown, and your fee will be waived as long as you submit your completed Common App AND Member Questions on October 30.

• Colorado State University-Global
  When requested, enter the promo code CORISES during the application process. Once entered, the application fee will automatically be waived.
  
  
• Colorado State University-Pueblo
  In the section of your application that asks if you have a few waiver code, select Yes and enter the code CIC in the box.
  
  
• Fort Lewis College
  Enter app fee code at end of application: COLORISES  (Note: The application requires an 8-digit code)
  
  
• Metropolitan State University of DenverNo special steps are necessary for Colorado residents to qualify for Colorado Free Application Day; your fee will automatically be waived when you submit your application on October 30.
• University of Colorado Boulder
  
  CU Boulder Transfer Application: No special steps are necessary for Colorado residents to qualify for Colorado Free Application Day; your fee will automatically be waived when you submit your application on October 30.

Common Application (for Freshman applicants): Within the CU Boulder Member Questions section, you’ll see this required prompt: “Do you intend to use one of these school-specific fee waivers?” Choose Colorado Free Application Day (Colorado residents only) in the dropdown. You will then see another required field: “Please provide your University of Colorado Boulder fee waiver code here”. Enter #FreeAppDayCO in the field provided.  Your fee will be waived as long as you submit your completed Common App and Member Questions on October 30.

• University of Colorado DenverWhen prompted for payment, please enter the promo code (case sensitive): FreeAppDayCO.
  
  
• University of Colorado Colorado Springs
  When you get to the final page of the UCCS application, the last question will ask you, “How do you plan to pay your application fee?” Please select MAIL.  This will allow you complete and submit the application to UCCS. You will receive follow up reminder information, but please disregard any mention of paying the application fee.
  
  
• University of Northern Colorado 
  Bear App: No special steps are necessary for Colorado residents to qualify for Colorado Free Application Day; your fee will automatically be waived when you submit your application on October 30.
  
  Common App: Within the UNC Member Questions section, you’ll see this required prompt: “Do you intend to use one of these school-specific fee waivers?” Choose YES in the dropdown. You will then see another required field: “Please provide your University of Northern Colorado fee waiver code here”. Enter #FreeAppDayCO in the field provided.  Your fee will be waived as long as you submit your completed Common App and Member Questions on October 30.
  
  
• Western Colorado University
  Western Application (for freshmen and transfer applicants): On the last page of the application titled Charges and Additional Items, enter the promo code #FreeAppDayCO. This will cause the balance to hit $0.00. Once submitted, simply exit out if it pulls you to a payment screen.
  
  

  Common Application (for freshmen applicants only): Within the Western Member Questions section, you’ll see this required prompt: “Do you intend to use one of these school-specific fee waivers?” Choose #FreeAppDayCO in the dropdown. You will then see another required field: “Please provide your Western fee waiver code here”.  Enter #FreeAppDayCO in the field provided. Your fee will be waived as long as you submit your completed Common App and Member Questions on October 30th.
